ABOUT THE ACT
Velvet Static makes late-night pop for big rooms: drum machines under live strings, a voice that carries without shouting, and choruses built for twelve thousand people to sing back. Their second record spent the winter on every back-room turntable in the city.
Friday's headline set closes the Main Stage's first night with the full band — two drummers, a string trio and a light rig they designed themselves. Expect the new record in full, front to back, then the songs everyone knows.
